Built-in Frameworks (Document Types)
Oxygen XML Web Author comes with built-in support for some of the most common XML document types (frameworks). A sample document from each document type is displayed in the Samples tab on your Oxygen XML Web Author Dashboard page.
The following built-in document types (frameworks) are included in Oxygen XML Web Author:
- DocBook - A document type standard designed for a variety of documents (particularly technical documentation). For the DocBook specifications, see http://www.docbook.org/specs/.
- DITA - An XML-based architecture designed for authoring, producing, and
delivering technical information. For the DITA 1.3 specifications, see https://www.oxygenxml.com/dita/1.3/specs/. You

- DITA Map - A document type that collects and organizes references to DITA topics or other maps. For DITA map specifications, see https://www.oxygenxml.com/dita/1.3/specs/archSpec/base/ditamaps.html.
- XHTML - Extensible HyperText Markup Language includes the same depth of expression as HTML, but also conforms to XML syntax. For the W3C XHTML specifications, see https://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml2/.
- TEI - The Text Encoding Initiative guidelines is a standard for the academic community that collectively defines an XML format for text that is primarily semantic rather than presentational. For the TEI P5 specifications, see https://www.tei-c.org/release/doc/tei-p5-doc/en/html/index.html.
