Orphaned Block-Level Comments Appear After Regenerating Output
Problem
After regenerating output, block-level comments now appear as orphaned (the ID mapping has been changed).
Possible Cause
When transforming DITA files, the data-ofbid
attribute is automatically generated for block elements that do not have an ID attribute
in the DITA source files if the
webhelp.enable.block.elements.id.generation transformation parameter is
set to yes. Thus, if block-level comments are added in the output on block elements
with a data-ofbid attribute generated (for elements that do not have an
ID in the source) and then the output is regenerated, the mapping between the block-level
comment and the element will be lost and the orphaned comment will be displayed in the
commenting component (with a warning symbol in their status badge).
Solution
data-ofbid attribute that
is generated during transformations for each block element, you must set IDs on each
block element inside the DITA source files. More information on how
