Editing XML Documents
The structure of an XML document and the required restrictions on its elements and their attributes are defined with an XML schema. This makes it easier to edit XML documents in the visual Author editing mode. For more information about schema association, see Associating a Schema to XML Documents.
Oxygen XML Editor includes fully supported built-in frameworks for the most popular XML document types (DITA, DocBook, TEI, XHTML, JATS) with a full set of features. These built-in frameworks are defined according to a set of rules and a variety of settings that improve editing capabilities for its particular file type. For extensive details about the DITA editing features included in Oxygen XML Editor, see the DITA Authoring chapter.
This section includes information about the user interface components and actions that are available in the various editing modes and numerous features to help you edit XML documents in any mode.
