• You need to run the installer as a super user.
• Run the installation program and follow the on-screen instructions.
• At the end of the installation process, you will be instructed to complete the server setup in a web browser. If you want to complete the server setup at a later time, you can find the address of the configuration page by running the open.sh script from the installation folder.

Install

• You need to have Administrator rights on your computer in order to complete the installation process.
• Run the installation program and follow the on-screen instructions. At the end of the installation process, Oxygen XML Web Author server is up and running. At the end of the installation process, you will be instructed to complete the server setup in a web browser. If you want to complete the server setup at a later time, you can find the address of the configuration page by running the open.sh script from the installation folder.
• The Oxygen XML Web Author service might be blocked by Windows firewall.
• In this case, you need to add a new firewall rule to allow inbound traffic on the Server port. By default, this port is set to 8080, but it can be configured during the installation process. Go to Control Panel > System and Security > Windows Firewall > Advanced settings > Inbound rules and add a new rule.

Uninstall

• Run the Oxygen Web Author Uninstaller from the Start Menu or uninstall.exe from the installation folder. At the end of the uninstall process, all configuration and log files are left in the installation folder. It is safe to delete them, if no longer needed.

Install

• This version contains just the Oxygen XML Web Author, without a Servlet Container or a license server. Such a distribution provides more flexibility in choosing your deployment components.
  • Install a supported Servlet Container.
  • Set-up an Oxygen License Server Servlet Version and activate your license key.
  • Install the war archive using the instructions specific to the Servlet Container.
  • Configure Oxygen XML Web Author to connect to the license servlet you installed.
  • You need to pass the following command-line flags to the java application:
    --add-opens=java.base/java.lang=ALL-UNNAMED --add-opens=java.base/java.net=ALL-UNNAMED -Djava.security.manager=allow

• Note: JRE_HOME or JAVA_HOME system variables should point to a Java 17 distribution.
• Unzip the downloaded archive. Note: For Windows, do not use the built-in zip manager. Use a 3rd-party application (such as 7-Zip).
• Run the Start-oXygen-XML-Web-Author script.
• On the first run, you will be required to enter an administrator user name and password.
• Proceed to the configuration page (http://localhost:8080/config) and follow the instructions.

Uninstall

• Simply delete the folder where you unzipped the Oxygen XML Web Author.
